The Impossibles To Reunite For One Night Only

For one night only, The Impossibles will reunite at Mowhawk in their hometown of Austin Texas.

As one of Fueled by Ramen’s, the record label that got its start in 1996, original bands, The Impossibles have been out of the music circuit for ten years. The band announced they will reunite and perform on June 9, 2012. No other future plans for the band have yet been announced, but the band launched a new website, where ticket information and information about the band can be found. Only a few hours after The Impossibles announced their reunion show, tickets were already sold out. However, this will not be the band’s first reunion in their history of existence on the alternative music scene.

They started out 1994 performing unique, at the time, ska punk and sporting identical baseball jerseys as “their version of Kiss’ make-up.” The band quickly grabbed attention of several popular acts on the alternative music scene. Vinnie Fiorello, drummer for Less Than Jake, signed the band to his start up label, Fueled by Ramen and released their debut self-titled album. The band’s growing popularity and personal issues caused them to disband in 1998.

The band reunited in 2000 and released the album Return. They played a sold out show at Emo’s in Austin, Texas and surprised fans as they ditched the ska sound and traded it in for a more refined indie sound. The band was able to tour the country in support of the new release, but fan’s disappointment in the new sound was growing and causing The Impossibles to reevaluate their decision to reunite. They eventually broke up again just two short years later.

But, The Impossibles are back at it again, and though no plans as to what will come after the reunion show have been formally made, there is hope from fans that they will make a full comeback.
