Nicki Minaj Delays Album Release

The princess of Young Money has some unfortunate news for her fans. Nicki Minaj announced via Twitter that the release of her upcoming album would be delayed. Minaj had plans to release Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded on Valentine’s Day this year, but instead it will not be released until April 3.

Minaj’s Twitter post read as follows: “New Album Date: April 3rd. Pink Friday: ROMAN RELOADED. But have no fear. Tons of surprises before then ;). Love Always, HB.”

Despite the unfinished album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded has been available for pre-order at Amazon and Best Buy since Christmas Day.

A few promotional singles for the album have also already been released. The list includes “Roman in Moscow” and “Stupid Hoe.” Both of which debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100. “Roman in Moscow” at 64 and “Stupid Hoe” at 81.

The official lead single for the album, “Va Va Voom,” will not be released until Feb. 7.

These three singles are the only ones confirmed to appear on the sophomore album, but Minaj said in a re-Tweet from Dec. 29 that the official album listing would be available in “3 weeks.”

This new album from Minaj has some pretty big shoes to fill. Her debut album, Pink Friday, reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200 and was seventh on the year-end US Billboard 200 chart, plus it was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Eight out of the nine singles released from Pink Friday appeared on the US Billboard Hot 100. The single to reach the highest was “Super Bass” at number three, followed by “Your Love” at 12.

All of Minaj’s work in the past year provided her with great honors. Minaj was the first female to be named on MTV’s annual Hottest MC’s in the Game list and she was named the 2011 Rising Star by Billboard.
