Augustana Announces Album Release Date

Augustana will be release their third album on April 26.  According to Music Remedy, the band recorded the self-titled album with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer, Jacquire King.  King has previously worked with Norah Jones and Kings of Leon, and most recently produced the Cold War Kids' third album.  The first single from the album, "Steal Your Heart," is set to drop Feb. 14. 

When he talked to Music Remedy, songwriter and lead vocalist Dan Layus said:  “The creative and musical progression of this record feels like the most true expression of who this band is in its most basic form.  We worked really hard to bring the sound to a new frontier, but not so far that it lost that sense of organic sensibility.”

This will be the band's first release since 2008's Can't Love, Can't Hurt.  Fans who follow the band on Facebook may have had hope for a new album before the end of 2010; that is until they read this missive, "Friends, We apologize for the lack of updates, but due to circumstances out of our control we will be postponing plans for a fall tour until early next year. We want to thank you for your continued love and support over the years, and want to let you know that we can't wait to return to your cities next year with a new album in hand ..."
