Alanis Morissette announces 'Guardian Angel' tour

Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette announced tour dates for her “Guardian Angel” tour on Monday.

Morissette will be promoting her eighth upcoming album, Havoc And Bright Lights, which will be released on Aug. 28.

Tickets for the North American tour went on sale Aug. 17.  Morissette recently finished a European tour.

Morissette broke out in 1995 with her album, Jagged Little Pill, which earned her four Grammys.  Since then, Morissette has continued to develop her music career.

In a statement, Morissette said about the tour, "The songs from the last 17 years are blending together like great friends. Thankfully, there is a timelessness in their content and passion, for me. The show covers the gamut of every chord choice and every emotion I have ever felt. I am spent afterwards, happily so. I am thrilled to be able to play and tour with my family, blending my personal and artistic fulfillment into one sweaty, feisty, expressed, communal traveling circus.”

The tour begins on Aug. 25 in Montclair, N.J., at The Wellmont Theatre.  The Canadian-native will be playing three shows in Canada as well.
